If you’ve been told that all red weeks exchange the same, don’t shoot the messenger, but it just isn’t so!

Today, the key operative is “trading power”.  Understanding trading power and what boosts it (or destroys it) can make a world of difference in the quality of your vacations. The key to happy vacationing is knowing how much trading power you need, how much you have, and how to make it work to your advantage!

It’s true that many years ago, except for unit size, the only criteria that mattered was the general classification of season — red, white, or blue...platinum, gold or bronze...red, green or yellow.

With few minor exceptions (which we’ll be glad to explain), the trading power of what you own is determined by far more than just the season in which it falls.  One red week may have significantly more or less trading power than another red week, even if they’re both red weeks at the same resort!

It is possible to trade a low-season week in a converted motel that’s miles from nowhere and get an exchange into a luxurious 2-bedroom villa overlooking a pristine beach during the busiest week of the year, but don't expect that to happen. There are real limitations. We’ll help you determine if “trading up” is an option you can live with, AND teach you how to improve your odds of hitting the vacation jackpot!!

It’s also possible to own a fabulous timeshare condominium in the most desirable location during the very busiest week of the year and have virtually no chance of getting an exchange into the resort and time period you want.  If you’re a peak season traveler and demand “Five Star” or “Gold Crown” accommodations, we’ll make sure you know how to guarantee you’re getting the maximum “trading power” available for the week you own.
